SVS 2000 Pro Series Subs Promises New Lows

The new 2000 Pro Series from SVS boasts a massive performance upgrade for what's arguably the brand's most popular range of subwoofers.

The all-new 2000 Pro Series subwoofers feature trickle-down tech from the flagship SVS 16-Ultra Series

SVS 2000 Pro

Firstly, the Power Sledge STA-550D Amplifier combines a high current output of discrete MOSFETs with Class D efficiency kicking out a quoted 550 Watts RMS and 1500+ Watts peak through the line's 12-inch driver. SVS says that the amp also accomplishes vanishingly low distortion and nearly limitless on-demand power while maintaining precise driver control.

The previously mentioned 12-inch aluminium vented cone with a dual toroidal magnet motor sits in a proprietary injection moulded extreme-excursion surround to ensure flawless pistonic motion.

We are told that the 50MHz Analog Devices Audio DSP with 56-bit filtering is the most advanced digital processor used in a subwoofer. The tech is said to render pinpoint accurate frequency response through advanced in-room tuning and powerful controls while letting the subwoofer fill the room with bass.

SVS DSP App

Of course, any modern audio kit would be nothing without its own app, and here you get the SVS Subwoofer DSP Smartphone App. This enables you to control volume, manage custom presets and fine-tune performance in your system. Not only does it work with Apple iOS, and Android devices, but also Amazon devices too.

Via the app, you can alter the 3-band parametric EQ, low pass filter, phase, polarity, room gain, port tuning (PB-2000 Pro & PC-2000 Pro only), and system settings, even when the subwoofer is out of sight.

Meanwhile, onboard the sub, you have access to the new Intelligent Control Interface (ICI). The rear amplifier panel sports buttons and an LED bar interface, which first appeared on the 3000 Series. From here, you can control volume, low pass frequency, phase, and other critical functions.

PB-2000 Pro

The SVS PB-2000 Pro boasts a low-frequency extension down to 16 Hz (standard mode) with astonishing detail and accuracy. The optimised dual-port cabinet design ensures effortless output at the deepest octaves without a hint of distortion, according to SVS. Additionally, the PB-2000 Pro features two port tuning modes with individual response curves to achieve the most accurate in-room frequency response possible for both sealed or standard modes.

PC-2000 Pro

SVS PC-2000 Pro

The PC-2000 Pro has a footprint measuring just 16.5-inches in diameter and stands 34-inches tall. The sub uses its vertical height to maintain a small footprint without sacrificing performance. Also, the unit features the SoundPath Subwoofer Isolation System and SVS subwoofer DSP smartphone app for convenient control of volume, DSP functions, custom presets, and more. We are promised the performance you'd expect from a massive ported box subwoofer (16Hz to 290Hz +/-3dB in standard mode) in a much more space-conscious design.

SB-2000 Pro

Finally, the SVS SB-2000 Pro not only has a quoted bass extension below 20 Hz but also promised audiophile refinement and musicality all from a compact cabinet that measures just 15-inches on all sides. SB-2000 Pro also features the SVS subwoofer smartphone app for convenient control of volume, DSP functions, custom presets, and more.

Price and availability

The new 2000 Pro series is available now with the SB-2000 Pro costing £899 in black ash, £999 in black or special order white gloss, the PB-2000 Pro in black ash, £999 and the PC-2000 Pro with a black gloss top at £999.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
