TEUFEL CINEBAR LUX

Teufel Audio has announced its Cinebar Lux which promises plenty of low-end without the need of a separate subwoofer.

Teufel Audio's new Cinebar Lux boasts a slim design as well as Dynamore Ultra and Dynamore 3D tech that extends the sound horizontally thanks to side-radiating drivers, and vertically via ceiling-radiating drivers. Through this arrangement, we are promised an enveloping three-dimensional sound.

The Cinebar Lux uses four passive bass cones to generate a powerful bass without being intrusive. A further dozen high-performance drivers are being pushed along by nine power amplifiers for higher frequencies.

Movie dialogue will be clear thank to the two central drivers powering the centre channel. However, it's the bass that promises to impress. With four passive bass drivers, the Cinebar Lux boasts an impressive 45 Hertz cutoff frequency - without any additional subwoofer.

Additionally, the Cinebar Lux offers the possibility to control the wireless surround speakers Teufel Effekt directly. With the additional rear speakers, the Cinebar Lux delivers real surround sound.

The new soundbar also includes Teufel's Raumfeld streaming technology, as well as Bluetooth and Spotify Connect so wireless audio streaming is well-covered.

Also present is HDMI 2.0 with CEC and ARC as well as an optical digital input.

Price and availability

The Cinebar Lux is now available in black and black/white for £719.99.

The soundbar is also available in combination with the wireless rear speakers as Cinebar Lux Surround for £999.99.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
