The McIntosh House of Sound Now Open

McIntosh's House of Sound New York City townhouse has opened its doors, showcasing the group's audio-visual brands in a one-of-a-kind setting.
The House of Sound experience is pitched as a "curated multi-sensory townhouse" that combines some of the group's best products, such as McIntosh amplifiers, Sonus Faber speakers, Pro-Ject turntables, Sumiko cartridges, and Rotel electronics. They've even included a Jeep Grand Wagoneer packing a McIntosh MX1375 entertainment system.
Beyond the McIntosh Group delights, the House of Sound also showcases furniture by Baxter, USM cabinetry, a digital piano from Alpange, and high-quality home cinema from Sony, Kaleidescape, ScreenResearch. Furthermore, we're told that the extensive digital music library is powered by RoonLabs, while intimate listening is via Abyss headphones. Meanwhile, HRS acoustic systems supply the component support.
The 11,000-square feet townhouse can be found in Chelsea, NYC. As you would expect, the space is separated into different areas, offering a home cinema room, an extensive vinyl library, a pair of intimate listening rooms, a couple of open reference listening areas, two terraces, and a rooftop area.
McIntosh tells us that "each space is meticulously designed to ignite a symphonic journey of uncompromising and precisely calibrated sound."
Daniel Pidgeon, CEO of McIntosh Group, adds:
There’s something about closing your eyes and indulging in pristine sound that sticks with you. We hope through our immersive product experience hub, we can create that spark for people that makes them want to invest in premium audio equipment.
The House of Sound has now thrown its doors open at 357 West 17th Street, New York, NY10011.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
