The UK’s Kudos Audio Arrives in Australia

Kudos Audio, the Willington, UK-based loudspeaker manufacturer quickly gaining a solid following, is now available in Australia thanks to Melbourne-based Audio Magic.
The UK industry comprises a wide range of companies, some small, some large and some growing from one to the other. Kudos is one such example of the latter, a specialist speaker brand founded by Derek Gilligan sixteen years ago. Meticulous design and development through listening was and is his approach, first expressed in the quirky but fine-sounding C10 standmounter. The rest – as they say – is history…
In their own words ...
Deliberately daring to move beyond the traditional rulebook, Kudos takes an uncommon approach to loudspeaker design. The Kudos team combines its own considerable know-how in audio design and live sound engineering with the skills of several leading European suppliers to create unique, bespoke components and solutions. Every single Kudos loudspeaker is then hand-built in England. A Kudos loudspeaker is, therefore, a genuine original. And your emotional experience? One of a kind.
The lineup comprises two ranges of loudspeakers. The top of the line is Titan, said to suit a range of listening spaces, system types and budgets. Initially launching with the top-of-range Titan 808, the series has since grown to include four models in a choice of sizes and formats, standmount and floorstanding.
Meanwhile, the Cardea range is a true Kudos original. The Kudos brand was launched with a Cardea, and according to the company, customers haven't stopped asking for them since. The Cardeas range has evolved considerably since those early models. Still, the principle behind them remains very much the same: to create a high-performance loudspeaker for the 'real world' music lover.
Available now, prices start at $6,900 RRP for the C10 Standmount, through to $49,900 RRP for the top of the line Kudos T808 Floorstanders.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
