VINYL FOR THE 21ST CENTURY - THE RAW SPACE EXPERIENCE

Unless you’ve been idling on a remote desert island for the last few years, you’ll have read about Streaming ad nausea.
Streaming music is clearly here to stay but it’s also evolving to a point where we now have an artist creating an Anti-Streaming experience, we kid you not.
The digitally endowed chanteuse behind the Raw Space Streaming Experience is Beatie Wolfe.
She’s a singer songwriter and digital art-innovator and clearly a deeply talented streaming innovator.
The Raw Space Streaming Experience launched on May 5th at 11am EST and will live stream continuously for 7 days on YouTube.
To get a handle on Wolf’s goal of delivering the world’s first live 360-degree AR stream, watch the video below:
Wolfe describes her work the antithesis of current streaming experiences.
For Raw Space, I wanted to create the antithesis of our current streaming experience, which is somewhat compressed both sonically and creatively, or rather to create what I feel streaming music can be, and really celebrate the world of the album-its artwork, narrative, music in a fully immersive and multi-sensory way, which has the effect of placing the listener at the centre of this dynamic world.
No idle boast this. Not when you realize this series of live augmented reality performances takes place in a new performance area built around Nokia Bell Lab’s anechoic chamber.
It also adds to Bell Labs 50 years of pioneering experiments in art and technology that has seen artists of the calibre of John Cage, Robert Rauschenberg, Any Warhol and currently Beatie Wolfe collaborating with this famous technology company.
Reason enough to log on and view what promises to be a compelling performance especially for anyone with audiophile equipment.
And without further ado ...

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
