VooDoo Cable Iso-Pod Component Isolation

Voodoo, a magical approach to a problem. In this case however, it's just a name. The product in question is based on decades of research and is more science, than voodoo.
Australian distributor of VooDoo Cable, Absolute Hi End, has announced the availability of their Iso-Pod Component Isolation Systems.
Iso-Pods are available in a set of 3 or 4, and are said to "significantly improve the sonic definition and clarity of each component in your system". Two discs made from aerospace alloy are separated by zirconium ball bearings.
Strategically placed in either a 3 or 4 point configuration, they provide excellent mechanical stability, meaning components won’t shift or slide. Industrial-grade felt pads protect the underside of the component from scratches.
Based on decades of research, Voodoo Cables found that vibration from the electromechanical function of any component, combined with the ambient vibration transmitted within the environment of your system interferes with the electronic circuitry. This degrades the output signal quality of that component. The aggregate effect of unwanted vibration from each component in your system only compounds the problem exponentially.
The Iso-Pod Component Isolation System converts vibration into low-level heat dissipation.
StereoNET was provided a sample of the 3 point Iso-Pod system as we were sceptical about the potential improvements that were claimed. As each point is load rated to 113kg, we started by placing them beneath a 53kg amplifier. There were no obvious changes or difference in sound.
In the following weeks, we tried them with different components, with very small but noticeable differences in the sound detail and image focus. The most obvious benefit was when used with one particular DAC, while another DAC showed marginal, if any, audible improvement.
Depending on the design of the component, the mechanical isolation of internal circuitry as well as damping of the component's chassis, improvements can genuinely be found through the use of the Iso-Pods. Available in black or silver, give them a go on your components, for $450 (set of 3) and $595 (set of 4), they’re worth a try.
Like us, there will be sceptics... don't knock it until you try it, I say.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
