Wilson Audio Chronosonic XVX Now Available in UK

Wilson Audio's Chronosonic XVX was unveiled at RMAF 2019 earlier this year and is now available in the UK.

The Wilson Audio Chronosonic XVX, now available in the UK, distils technology from the Alexandria XLF and range-topping £700,000 WAMM Master Chronosonic into a £330,000 package.

It was never going to be cheap, but Wilson Audio is a brand synonymous with some of the most highly respected and accomplished loudspeakers currently available.

Wilson Audio's use of non-wood materials for their cabinets and the focus on time aligned drivers are essential aspects of the brand's design and resulting aesthetic.

The format of the Chronosonic XVX fits Daryl Wilson's attitudes and convictions perfectly. He is extraordinarily compromise-adverse, so being able to remove the constraints of price or practicality within the design equation freed his imagination and allowed him to focus on his goal.

Furthermore, Daryl had one advantage his father, Dave Wilson, didn't have, and that's the WAMM itself. You will find elements of the WAMM-developed tech in the new Chronosonic XVX, albeit in a more straightforward form.

More than in any other previous loudspeaker, Wilson has introduced more technology, features, and manufacturing processes for the Chronosonic XVX.

Short of the WAMM itself, no other loudspeaker reproduces music as realistically or communicates the emotional power of the artists so eloquently, says Wilson Audio.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
