Replacing the outgoing Sabrina X, the new Sabrina V reflects a deep rethink of one of Wilson’s most universally admired designs. While the silhouette remains recognisably Wilson, nearly every aspect has been refined to bring its sonic performance closer to the brand’s flagship speakers, without dramatically altering its physical footprint.

Among the most notable updates is introducing H-Material, a new proprietary composite used for the front baffle. This new material is slightly softer than the brand’s established X-Material and is said to deliver greater midrange musicality while retaining the mechanical stiffness Wilson is known for. The cabinet continues to use X-Material throughout, complemented by V-Material inserts at the base to enhance vibration damping and mechanical isolation—an evolution of the brand’s Acoustic Diode interface system.

A suite of transducers typically found in Wilson’s higher-end loudspeakers is at the heart of the Sabrina V. The 1-inch Convergent Synergy Carbon (CSC) tweeter, borrowed from the Alexx V, delivers extended linearity and natural treble integration. It's paired with the celebrated 7-inch AlNiCo QuadraMag midrange driver, developed for the Chronosonic XVX and used across the Alexx V, Sasha V, and Alexia V. Anchoring the low end is the 8-inch woofer also found in the Sasha V and the iconic WATT/Puppy, promising bass that’s both articulate and tightly integrated with the rhythm of the music.

Inside, the crossover network receives notable attention. Wilson’s hand-built AudioCapX-WA capacitors, now upgraded with copper end-spray for better micro-detail and spatial articulation, are joined by point-to-point wiring for maximum signal integrity. Bass integration has also been refined using a newly developed woofer capacitor aligned with the midrange network, further enhancing tonal cohesion.

The Sabrina V’s enclosure remains compact by Wilson standards, standing just under 99 cm tall (without spikes) and weighing 123 lbs (56 kg) per speaker. Behind its modest footprint lies a serious acoustic design: frequency response is rated from 27 Hz to 24 kHz (±3 dB, Room Average Response), with 87 dB sensitivity and a nominal impedance of 4 ohms, dipping to 2.23 ohms at 121 Hz. While modestly sized, the Sabrina V demands quality amplification—Wilson recommends a minimum of 50 watts per channel, though higher-end pairings are obviously expected.

Practical refinements also appear. A new rear-mounted resistor access panel, framed in machined aluminium, replaces the previous bottom-mount system, allowing for easier tuning and serviceability. Premium binding posts provide secure support for spade or banana-terminated cables.

The Sabrina V represents a rare blend of approachability and reference-level trickle-down engineering for a company best known for producing six-figure loudspeakers. The Sabrina V will officially launch globally on July 3, 2025, with pricing confirmed at US$28,000 or AU$49,995 per pair. While additional international pricing is yet to be announced, pre-orders are already open for Australian customers.
