LAST CHANCE TO OWN MAGICO Q1 MINI MONITORS

Magico has announced it will soon cease production of its famed Q1 2-way stand mount loudspeaker.

Held in high regard by both discerning music lovers and reviewers alike, the Q1 will take on 'hall of fame' status in Magico's stable and was considered ahead of its time when first released in 2010.

Magico will complete one final production run telling its distributors around the world to secure any orders prior to August 31st, 2018. So if you've ever wanted to own the Q1 this will be your very last opportunity.

Magico's Q1 is considered by many as a benchmark in audio reproduction.

The Absolute Sound magazine said in its 2011 review:

For listeners in small-to-medium-sized rooms who can’t house big boxes or large panels that clutter up the décor, or for classical/jazz/acoustic-pop music lovers in any size room who want very close to the ultimate in transparency, resolution, and refinement at much less than a Q3/Q5 price, the Q1 would definitely be the Magico ticket I’d ride.

One of the pillars of Magico's success in loudspeaker design has been its ability to control vibration through damping and complex internal bracing. You only need a quick look at the exploded drawings of any Magico loudspeaker to understand the importance this Northern Californian designer and manufacturer places in this area of design.

If somehow you haven't heard Magico's Q1 in its lifespan, the good news is there's still time. Drop into Audio Reference in Auckland, have a listen, and if like many discerning audiophiles around the world you're simply won over then get your order in before the end of the month.

Magico Q1 2-Way Mini Monitors sell in New Zealand from $44,995 /pair with matching stands.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
