THE WORLD’S BIGGEST 4K TV IS AS LARGE AS A PROJECTOR SCREEN

Austrian big TV specialist C SEED has unveiled the world’s biggest 4K LED TV.
Its new C SEED 262 model has a screen diagonal of 262 inches or 6.65 metres. A humongous, wall filling TV that gives devotees of large screen displays, bragging rights aplenty.
The conversation you’ll have with your buddies after the installers have laboured away to simply haul your CSEED monster into your living room might include pearlers like this: “That’s our bedroom model. Wait ‘til you see the one we’ve ordered for the living room.’’
Or, “Love the new telly, the wife had to get a new reinforced wall to go with it.’’
Whatever else the C SEED 262 might invite in the way of accolades, no one will ever accuse you of skimping on the size of your spanking new 4K TV.
As befitting this beast of a telly, C SEED have given it ten built-in speakers to get the sound moving just nicely when used in a 7.1 or 9.1 channel surround system.
And just watch jaws dropping to floor level as the TV’s remote is keyed and the set’s customised fabric cover peels away to reveal its gigantic screen.
The C SEED 262 is also smart and carries an integrated 4K media server. As for those bragging rights, your mates might have a bigger projection screen, but they can’t view anything on them in broad daylight. You can.
Specifications wise, the numbers are also heady. The 262 TV has a screen surface area measuring 6144mm x 2574 mm and a resolution said to be 4096 x 1716 pixels.
As for installation, our advice is to get installers built like gorillas because this bad boy weighs a back destroying 800 kgs. Anyone mention a portable crane or compact forklift?
Other salient specs include a lifespan the manufacturer says is about 10,000- hours. As for contrast ratio and brightness these come in at 5000:1 and 800 lumens respectively.
Viewing angle you’ll get from the 262 is 160 degrees horizontally and also 160 degrees vertically. Operating temperature range is -20 to +45 degrees so it’s an ideal buy for Alaskans as well as Bedouins.
C SEED says that the new TV’s LED failure rate is 1 per cent but zero per cent at delivery.
Connectivity abounds as you’d expect from a flagship model and these comprise 2 x HDMI and 1 x 4K HDMI inputs, plus 1 x HDMI output. Serial in/outputs are 2 x USB and 1 x RS232. Audio outputs are 3 x XLRs and 1 x BNC. Network connectivity is via a single RJ45.
Pricing has yet to be announced, as is availability in Australia. But it’s fair to say you’ll need telephone numbers to snare your very own C SEED 262 TV.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
