Sydney Audio Club

Joining an Audio Club is a great way to meet like-minded people, share experiences and enjoy the journey that is 'Hi-Fi'. Sydney Audio Club is just one of many clubs around Australia, and StereoNET had a chat with the current President, Tom Waters about their club.
The Sydney Audio Club is dedicated to the enjoyment of music and its high quality reproduction. The Club was formed in July 2007 with the intention of reaching out to music lovers across New South Wales to provide opportunities to come together and share diverse musical interests and the pursuit of high quality sound reproduction. The values and principles on which the club was founded ensures that a welcoming, respectful and appreciative culture pervades the Club's functions.
"We have many keen, enthusiastic and knowledgeable members in our Club. Some are members that build their own gear (DIY). Other members have branded gear that spans from the modest to the expensive. Other members are just starting out on their audio journey and are keen to learn." Waters said.
He continued, "The one thing in common with all our members is that they love music. So regardless of your experience, your finances or your musical tastes, our Club has much to offer."
Guests are always very welcome to the Club meetings. If after attending a meeting you decide to become a member, there is a very simple online process.
Sydney Audio Club currently holds monthly meetings from January through December each year. You can view the current meeting calendar on their website.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
