KLH Audio Model Seven Loudspeaker Makes Global Debut in Munich

KLH Audio has officially lifted the curtain on its new flagship loudspeaker, the Model Seven, during this week’s High End Munich 2025 exhibition.

KLH Audio officially unveiled its new flagship loudspeaker, the Model Seven, during High End Munich week—though not from the show floor itself. Instead, KLH chose the historic Koenigshof Hotel in central Munich to introduce the speaker to select press and industry insiders. StereoNET was fortunate to receive a private listening session hosted by KLH Brand President David P. Kelley and CEO Scott Hagen.

First founded by audio pioneer Henry Kloss in 1957, KLH has long championed the acoustic suspension principle—a design known for its linearity, control, and ability to produce extended bass from a compact enclosure. Years in development and eagerly awaited by fans of the brand’s celebrated Model Collection Series, the Model Seven represents a defining moment in KLH’s modern trajectory — one that merges classic hi-fi values with progressive engineering.

According to the company, the Model Seven reimagines the potential of acoustic suspension loudspeaker design. Long respected by audiophiles for its faithful, linear performance, this sealed-cabinet topology remains a rarity in the contemporary loudspeaker market. KLH believes its updated take sets a new benchmark for realism and emotional engagement in high-end listening.

Built around a 13-inch three-way configuration, the Model Seven features a wide front baffle that plays a central role in its sonic signature and visual identity. A newly developed midrange driver, custom-engineered for this model, is said to render music's emotional core with exceptional clarity and nuance.

It’s paired with a precision-machined 1-inch aluminium tweeter designed to reveal fine detail across the upper registers without harshness or fatigue. Bass response is managed by a large woofer operating within the sealed enclosure, promising fast, tight low-end performance with minimal distortion — a hallmark of actual acoustic suspension design.

KLH says the Model Seven is designed to operate effectively when placed closer to rear walls, offering welcome flexibility for modern listening spaces. A three-position acoustic balance switch allows users to tailor the high-frequency response to suit room acoustics and personal preferences.

Visually, the Model Seven channels a blend of mid-century charm and modern minimalism. Handcrafted English Walnut wood veneers, die-cast aluminium driver frames, and strict manufacturing tolerances reinforce the brand’s reputation for form meeting function. KLH maintains that the speaker is built not only to sound exceptional but also to integrate beautifully into the living environment.

Reflecting on the launch, KLH Brand President David P. Kelley told StereoNET:

“The Model Seven exemplifies everything KLH stands for: extraordinary sound, timeless design, and meticulous craftsmanship. There has simply never been a product like this — especially not at this level of performance and price. It is a new benchmark for what is possible in premium hi-fi.”

With intentional music listening on the rise and vinyl records continuing their resurgence, KLH positions the Model Seven as both a tribute to the golden era of hi-fi and a confident statement about the future of loudspeaker design.

During StereoNET’s listening session, first impressions were overwhelmingly positive. The voicing was balanced, the presentation deeply musical, and the overall character suggested a speaker that invites long listening sessions without fatigue. We look forward to putting the Model Seven through its paces in a full review soon.

The KLH Model Seven will be available for pre-order from August 2025 via select authorised dealers and directly through the KLH Audio website. Shipments are expected to begin in September. U.S. retail pricing is set at US$5,998 per pair, and pricing for other regions, including the UK and Australia, will be available very soon.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
