Bowers & Wilkins Launch Australian Website

Bowers & Wilkins, one of the most successful loudspeaker companies in the world and distributed locally by experts in the game, Convoy, have launched a local website for the prestigious brand.

The story of Bowers & Wilkins begins with the vision of one man, John Bowers. He believed that the perfect speaker should be to the ear what a flawless pane of glass is to the eye. It should neither
add to nor take away from music, but reveal the true sound of the performance, faithful in every nuance to the original.

The truth is, for the brand founded in 1966 and today, the culmination of more than 50 years of innovation in the loudspeaker world, it's even more than that. That humble philosphy of Bowers paved the way for their long-term worldwide success. From their design, development, manufacturing, right through to their marketing and representation around the world, Bowers & Wilkins do not compromise, that is clear.

StereoNET were invited to the 800 Diamond Series exclusive launch in Munich, Germany earlier this year. The Bayerischer Hof Hotel was a fitting venue; in harmony with the prestige and elegance of the brand.

A sense of grandeur could be felt the moment you entered the hotel, designed by the king's favorite architect, Friedrich von Gärtner and completed in 1841. Glorious chandeliers, centuries old fine tapestries, oversized everything, you get the picture.

And today, a press release arrived from the English manufacturer. But not in the usual way. Generally an emailed attachment is sent through to press around the world and hits the inboxes of publications like ours with a few image and some text. Not Bowers & Wilkins.

You see, they understand they're dealing in luxury goods, at least in the higher end 800 series of the range. If you've ever been fortunate enough to wander into a Mercedes Benz dealership you'll know what I'm talking about. Buying a luxury motor vehicle is an experience. Why should the upper levels of HiFi be any different?

Exhibit A:

I've come to expect nothing less from B&W. A press release with an assortment of images, additional information and more technical articles, all contained on a convenient USB stick, a hard cover history of the brand, all presented in a perfect gift box. Impressed.

So when you're considering your next HiFi purchase, look beyond the cheapest price, look further than just the most convenient option, consider the brand and its history. Consider the service, support, and excellence in every aspect of the brand.

Take a look through the brand new Bowers & Wilkins Australian website and it will be evident they're passionate about sound, image, quality, and the reputation they've worked hard to build for over 50 years. It all matters, because you're making more than just a purchase, you're making an investment.

See Bowers & Wilkins in Room M5 at the 2016 Melbourne International HiFi Show, July 1st-3rd 2016. Tickets available now.

Visit the brand new website now at www.bowers-wilkins.com.au.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
