Bush Gets Top Marks
Just when you thought Digital TV Recorders and originality had parted company, Bush cements the relationship. The brand’s View 21 Smart Digital Recorder lives up to its nomenclature with a bundle of clever features, great looks and ripper pricing.
As you’d expect from Bush, the View21 will stream content to Apple mobile devices using an application that will keep the rug rats happy. The easy to navigate Play app and the View21’s Wi-Fi mode allows the kids to watch one program on the family telly while simultaneously allow a second live or prerecorded show streams wirelessly to Apple mobile devices-iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch-in another part of the house.
The same app also allows users to pencil in programs they want to record.
All great stuff. But so is a neat feature called Photo app which cleverly routes family pics, videos or holiday snaps stored on Apple mobile devices to the family TV.
And yes, View21 also taps into YouTube and Flickr and other social media sites allowing mates to share short clips or images you fancy. Easy access to Twitter accounts lets users see what’s trending during sports programs or reality TV thanks to its ‘ticker tape’ presentation.
Available in two storage sizes, the 500GB model (BV21R050W) is capable of storing up to 125 hours in HD programming while the 1TB model (BV21R100W) can store up to 250 hours in HDii. One-touch recording makes the process simple and viewers can record two channels simultaneously. Popular features such as series link recording, a seven-day Electronic Program Guide (EPG) and pause and rewind live television are also offered.
The View21 is much more than a DVR with the ability to watch live TV and stream recorded content to an Apple mobile device at the same time. In addition, the quick and easy setup means users can enjoy watching and recording favourite programs while simultaneously checking the latest Twitter trends. Other intuitive features include user friendly menus, automatic setup and updates as well as auto retune. Enjoy quick navigation through listings and the recording library in just a few swipes.
