Cabasse Arrives in Australia

Audio Visual Revolution, the Sydney based importer and distributors of premium audio brands including Audiolab, Nuforce, QED, Quad and Wharfedale among others, today announced their appointment as the sole Australian distributor of French specialist speaker brand Cabasse.

Based in the seaside city of Brest in Brittany in western France, Cabasse was founded in 1950 by Georges Cabasse, heir of five generations of stringed instruments craftsmen and with a unique memory for sounds, Cabasse has a singular obsession: the authentic reproduction of music to bring the true emotion of a concert into your home.

Tony Ingrisano, Product Manager for AVR told StereoNET:

Audio Visual Revolution prides itself in bringing Australian consumers class-leading products from the very best international brands. We firmly believe these products offer exceptional value and performance both to the end user as well as to our valued dealer network. They are the result of years (in some instances over 80 years) of research and development by specialist manufacturers and their respective engineering teams, who are totally focused on the audio visual category.

Cabasse is a welcome addition to our portfolio, and we look forward to developing the brand further in Australia.  Our first shipment of Cabasse stock arrives at the end of July, which will include the new and exciting Stream AMP.

From traditional speaker designs through to specialist custom installation products and technology embracing connected devices, innovations originating from the Cabasse Acoustic Centre benefit all Cabasse models, from the world reference La Sphere to the petite Stream 1.

Their relentless pursuit of excellence led to the development of Cabasse’s unique coaxial loudspeaker drive unit, a design that differs dramatically from the vast majority of coaxial units on the market having a ‘donut’ shaped mid range driver surrounding the soft dome tweeter, as opposed to the more conventional dome and cone arrangement.

Sold to Canon (Europe) in 2006, Cabasse was again sold to its current owners, French technology firm AwoX in 2014. This new partnership has led to even greater technological advancements with the introduction of some exiting wireless and streaming products.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
