London based sound experts, Cambridge Audio, look to up-the-ante in the Bluetooth speaker market by introducing a new statement piece that new standards for audio performance, build quality battery life.
Australian distributor, Synergy Audio Visual has today announced the local availability of the Cambridge Audio G5 Wireless Speaker.
With its elegant metal and leather exterior, as well as exceptional sound quality, the G5 further enhances the successful line-up of portable Cambridge speakers.
Philip Sawyer, Managing Director of Synergy Audio Visual told StereoNET:
Bluetooth speakers are not all created equal. Affectionately referred to as the ‘Prada bag’ of wireless speakers, the G5 is not only sleek and stylish, but it outshines with superior audio quality and really stands out from the Bluetooth speaker crowd. We are thrilled to be bringing such high quality portable audio speakers to Australia. The G5 will be the perfect audio companion for you or your loved one to enjoy the sounds of summer these holidays.
With first class audio engineering, normally reserved for Cambridge’s high-end audiophile products, the G5 produces impressive audio performance with clear treble and bass detail, plus rattle free, crystal clear sound, not commonly found in Bluetooth speakers.
The convenience and high audio quality of Bluetooth (apt-X and SBC) means wherever your music is stored or played from, it will be streamed to the G5 in amazing detail. Whether using your phone or tablet, from apps or streaming services such as Spotify, you can enjoy your music wirelessly and with beautiful musicality and quality.
Despite having a relatively compact and slim cabinet (121mm X 270mm x 55mm HxWxD) the G5 utilises 2 x 30mm high quality mid/high drivers and a dedicated 60mm subwoofer plus two passive auxiliary bass radiators to deliver massive power from the smallest possible footprint with an expansive, clear, deep and room filling sound.
Already famed for the exceptional battery life of the Go series of speakers, the G5 battery is said to last for 14 hours at the higher ‘Party’ Level (73db @ 1M) and well over 20 hours at the more normal ‘ambient’ level (70db) from a single battery charge. You can also charge your portable devices (phones, tablets etc.) via the G5 using the convenient USB port on the back of the product – great for outdoor environments where charging facilities are limited.
Available now in Gold and white leather or gun metal and black leather fir $449 RRP, the G5 will beautifully fit into any environment, outside or inside, wherever you wish to take your music.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
