Clarity Announces The 2023 Best of Show Awards at The Bristol Show

The Clarity Alliance presented its ninth annual 'Best of Show' awards at The Bristol Show 2023 on Friday, February 24th, announcing the winners of nine awards for exhibitors and the wider industry.
Clarity's chairman, Elizabeth Gould, presented the awards after giving an overview of Clarity's work to support the hi-fi industry to the assembled audience of exhibitors, retailers and members of the media. Here, Elizabeth invited those present to join in the community mission of the organisation by submitting ideas and thoughts on how Clarity can enhance its offering.

As always, Clarity's team of anonymous judges visited every room at the show to judge them within three categories: 'Best Sound of the Show', 'Best Presented Room' and in a new category, 'Most Welcoming Room of the Show'. The latter is essential, especially as the industry needs to involve the next generation of music lovers. This can only be done if show rooms (and showrooms) are welcoming and the staff encouraging.

Best Presented Room - REL
Most Welcoming Room - Auden Distribution
Congratulations to Reference Audio for winning Best New Retailer and Hi-Fi Lounge for Out of the Box Retailer. These two categories had been nominated by the Clarity board members to recognise the challenges of opening new retail outlets during harsh trading conditions and widening the appeal of a hi-fi business to a new audience.

Industry members voted on two other awards before the show, and the awards for Best Retailer Marketing and Best Manufacturer Marketing were given to Signals HiFi and Bowers & Wilkins, respectively.
As part of its constitution, Clarity, the UK hi-fi trade association, undertakes to recognise individuals who have significantly contributed to the industry. This year's award will be presented at the Clarity Conference on March 20th, to be held at Dolby's London screening room.
Well done to all the worthy winners from StereoNET, and it is always great to see the industry in such good hands.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
