Dared Audio Launches in Australia

Dared Audio, out of Hong Kong have been producing audio equipment since 1995. According to Dared Audio, their mission was clear; to design and manufacture the best and most widely affordable yet technologically advanced High-End, High Fidelity audio equipment.
That's a big statement, but affordable they are. One thing is clear, from their tabletop retro-styled radios, through to their flagship amplifier, Dared Audio's designs revolve around the humble 'valve'.
Mixing the old with the new, Dared Audio says:
Working with innovative DSP processing design houses that are close by, we were the first to introduce in circa 2004 the connectivity via USB of our products to computing devices: an industry first for a valve amplification system. Just one of our many innovations.
Our amplifiers are designed based on simplicity using unique audio techniques which are crafted to bring unique and pleasing aesthetics with functionality in line with listening pleasure. The Ultimate Sound Experience!
Heading up Dared's Melbourne distribution is Craig Wu, of Wucorp Pty Ltd. Wu first came across Dared Audio in 2006 and fell in love with the original MP5 driving JBL 4410A speakers.
For a $599 unit it had no right to sound as good as it did and being a hybrid unit has plenty of punch to drive my speakers which were rated at 90 dB SPL. - Craig Wu.
Last year, noticing Dared Audio had no presence in Australia, Wu siezed the opportunity to represent the brand in Melbourne and launched the product range at the 2014 Australian HiFi & AV Show. According to Wu, the amplifiers were well received and perfectly matched with Krix Speakers, whom he shared an exhibition room with.
Things are on the up and up for Dared Audio, with six new products having been released including two phono stages, KT150 SET amp, a special edition 845 SET amp, and two pairs of Rogers BBC studio monitor speakers.
In these early stages for Dared Audio in Australia, Wu has already signed up two dealers in Melbourne, as well as maintaining a full equiped demo room in Balwyn. As Wu expands the reach of Dared Audio, dealers are currently being sought in Sydney.
StereoNET will be taking a closer look at the Dared Audio range. Stay tuned for product reviews.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
