ESTELON LAUNCHES ROLLS ROYCE PRICED SPEAKERS

There’s no bypassing the new Estelon Extreme Legacy Edition speakers price tag.
At $364,000 per pair they’re about the same price as one of Rolls-Royce’s legendary bespoke automobiles.
The Rolls will go faster, but even one of these classically styled cars won’t look as good or sound as good as the new Estelons.
Drawing breath after an audition at the recent Munich Hi-Fi show, and again this week at the Hong Kong AV & Head-Fi Show, hard-bitten StereoNET publisher, Marc Rushton came away mightily impressed after hearing the Estelon Lynx model.
They look like a work of art and they certainly have all the attributes of the very best high-end speaker,
Estelon showed the Legacy Extreme Edition recently at the Rolls-Royce Enthusiast’s Club’s prestigious rally held of course in the grounds of one of the UK’s stately mansions.
The venue was held at Burghley House, a 16th-century home in the verdant countryside of Lincolnshire. The event drew more than 1000 Rolls-Royce and Bentley cars.
Estelon as befitting the launch didn’t hold back the superlative describing the new speakers as “…the world’s most technologically advanced speakers’’.
Estelon also made the point that its design people drew their inspiration for the Extreme Edition speakers, from the Rolls-Royce legacy of design excellence.
Estelon designer, Alfred Vassilkov told the gathering at the launch that Sir Henry Royce once said that his cars exemplified the goal of taking the best that exists and making it better.
It is his unceasing pursuit of excellence that has inspired our new high-performance speaker, the Estelon Extreme Legacy Edition. A pitch-perfect balance of innovative technology and sculptural grace, we’d like to think that Sir Henry would have approved.
Based in Tallinn, Estonia, Estelon chose to give the Legacy Extreme a sensuous cabinet finished in light Tudor grey metallic paint because the colour is typically linked more with classic Rolls-Royce cars than high-end audio gear.
The brand also ensured the speaker carries a modular brain equipped with new Estelon Intelligent Audio (EIA) technology that is says, makes these speakers totally future proof.
EIA makes it possible to update the speaker’s hardware and software components.
Built to serve music in the digital, wireless streaming era the Legacy Extreme is of course wireless enabled.
The driver compliment is substantial and comprises a pair of 10-inch aluminium dome woofers, a 10-inch aluminium dome mid-woofer, a 7-inch ceramic, inverted dome midrange and a 1.5-inch diamond inverted dome tweeter per speaker.
The frequency response is said to cover he frequencies from 20 to 40,000 Hz. The Extreme legacy is a large speaker and is 1780-2080 mm high, 790 mm wide and 820 mm deep. Each speaker weighs 285 kg.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, DLNA and Ethernet Cable.
Estelon products are the stuff of audiophile dreams. Sadly Australian music lovers will, for the time being have to travel overseas to hear any of the brand’s models because as yet, there is no Australian distributor.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
