Italian Isolation Platforms Arrive in Australia

Melbourne based wholesaler Fundamental Audio has been appointed the sole Australian distributor for the Italian manufacturer, eSse-Ci Design, and the team behind the Relaxa line of floating platforms.
The Relaxa range was originally designed and patented in Trento, Italy, in 1999 by Silvano Cremonesi, who is still the Chief Designer and Director of eSse-Ci Design today.
The product range consists of the models Relaxa 622, Relaxa 530, Relaxa 750. All platforms are made of hardened glass, an absolutely rigid material that does not deform even after prolonged heavy loads.
The Relaxa 622, loadable from 3kg – 20kg, uses four powerful neodymium magnets to provide a magnetic cushion to isolate your components. The Relaxa 530, loadable from 3kg – 30kg, uses five neodymium magnets, while the top of the range, the Relaxa 750 is loadable from 3kg – 50kg and uses eight neodymium magnets. This provides the ultimate magnetic cushioning.
As a result, they eliminate any influence of external vibrations of any frequency better than is possible with any other isolation technique, according to the company.
The company explains that the "very strong magnetic field of the neodymium magnets is directed exclusively in the vertical direction. The negligible residual magnetism is completely shielded by the housing and has no influence on the entire structure, electronics or pickup systems." The horizontal level can easily be adjusted by turning the magnet housing and checked with the supplied spirit level.
Anthony Camplone, Operations Manager of Fundamental Audio, told StereoNET:
I'm excited to offer the S.A.P. Audio Relaxa products to Australian customers. The elegance in the execution of the design, allows your components to deliver better clarity and dynamics and reduce the noise floor of your system.
The Relaxa platforms start at $1,699 RRP for the Relaxa 622. The 530 is priced at $2,199 RRP, while the top of the range 750 is $2,499 RRP.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
