JUMP ON THE FREE ORTOFON SHUTTLE BUSES THIS RECORD STORE DAY

The 33 1/3 revolution continues on Saturday, April 13 as the annual Record Store Day returns in 2019.
Come this weekend, conga lines of enthusiastic vinyl-devotees will weave their way through crowded pavements, cross busy roads and brave whatever Melbourne’s unpredictable weather throws at them, just to arrive at their fave record store.
And we applaud their support of record stores across the globe.
Head to your nearest record store this Saturday, and you’ll be rewarded with limited edition LPs and be treated to in-store gigs by talented musicians.
Melbourne record-hunters can also join us on one of the two free Ortofon Record Store Day shuttle buses.
Record Store Day is now an eagerly awaited event globally, and it’s a day to visit dozens of Australian record stores, enjoy DJ sets, savour a snag on a barbecue and snap up a decent discount when you buy vinyl.
Record Store Day news gets even better because Turntable Titan Pro-Ject and Cartridge Giant, Ortofon have signed on for the fifth year running as this year’s celebrations sponsor.
As part of the festivities, Pro-Ject will give one Vinyl lover the chance to win one of its slinky Essential III Phono turntables finished in gorgeous walnut.
To be in the running post a photo of your weirdest record on Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #RSDWin and tag Pro-Ject @project_audio on Instagram or @ProJectAUNZ on Facebook.
Once you do this, go to recordstoreday.com.au/win/ to submit your entry.
Two runners up will snare themselves a Spin Clean Record Washing System.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
