L-Acoustics Creations Brings Live Arena and Blockbuster Cinema Sound Home

L-Acoustics Creations, a division of L-Acoustics, has added new home cinema systems to its Archipel Sound System range.

The Archipel range from L-Acoustics Creations now includes the Fiji 5.1, Hawaii 5.1, and Tonga 7.1 surround sound versions for home cinema fans which now sit alongside their original 2.1 incarnations. Needless to say, these will be a bit larger and louder than the brand's XO IEMs released last year.

L-Acoustics is the go-to live sound system for sound engineers, live event venues, and touring artists worldwide. The same technology experienced at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Hammersmith Apollo in London, and world-famous nightclubs Omnia, Jewel, and Hakkasan in Las Vegas can now be enjoyed for live-streamed performances at home.

L-Acoustics Creations launched the Archipel range of systems in 2020 and includes a mix of desktop, lounge, media room, home cinema and versatile indoor-outdoor setups for entertaining. Meanwhile, these sound systems carry the company's DNA and exclusive live sonic signature to give music and film fans that front-row feeling.

The range comprises Fiji (2.1 and 5.1), a compact system perfect for the home office or smaller lounges, and Hawaii (2.1 and 5.1) that suits larger lounges; meanwhile, while Tahiti (2.1) is the signature live speaker system that works equally well with music and film, whether indoors or out. Tonga (2.1 and 7.1) is L-Acoustics Creations' ultimate live music and home cinema listening experience and boasts an enhanced subwoofer. Finally, Ibiza (2.0) is the party sound system trusted and used by the world's biggest DJ's, according to the company.

All systems quote a 20Hz-20kHz frequency range with power going from 4800W to 12000W for the surround sound setups. The DJ-centric Ibiza, however, boasts 24000W.

Guillaume Le Nost, Managing Director, Creative Technologies, L-Acoustics, told StereoNET:

Consumer focus has shifted to the home, and to high-end home audio as artists create a growing library of live streaming content. Consequently, interest in the best home sound systems is surging and L-Acoustics Creations is uniquely placed to fulfil the desire to bring the concert home. We've put three decades of professional audio experience into creating packages that transform musical content into an experience that satisfies the most demanding music lover. In designing Archipel, we wanted a best-of-both-worlds marriage of pro audio and high-end sound.

L-Acoustics' sound systems and technologies can be heard in various Las Vegas entertainment venues, including the Park MGM Hotel Park Theater, where Aerosmith's Deuces Are Wild, and Lady Gaga's Enigma and Jazz & Piano residencies thrilled audiences and critics in 2019-2020.

Established in 1984, L-Acoustics pioneered the line source array with their Wave Sculpting Technology for modern PA systems worldwide.

L-Acoustics Creations Archipel home sound systems can be reserved online now. Prices start from €7,550 (Fiji), €14,050 (Hawaii), €23,400 (Tahiti) and €39,300 (Tonga). Current prices exclude tax and shipping.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
