Master & Dynamic has announced the MW07 GO lightweight sports true wireless earphones along with the MW07 PLUS for those preferring luxury.

Not content with releasing one new version of its MW07 true wireless earphones, the New York-based firm has announced two new models. Firstly, the MW07 GO, their most lightweight ultra-durable True Wireless Earphones yet. Also, there is the MW07 PLUS, which they say provides technical enhancements from the first generation MW07 while maintaining its celebrated quality, design, and exceptional acoustics.

Remember Master & Dynamics concrete speaker? Well, you'll be glad to know that acetate and the high-performance TR90 composite are used here instead. That should make your ears happier already.

The MW07 PLUS boasts 40 hours of total battery life (with the charging case) and Bluetooth 5.0. Dual beamforming noise reduction mic arrays, presents pristine in-call performance while 10mm custom Beryllium drivers promise brilliant sound.

Luxury comes in the form of three core colourways – Tortoiseshell, Steel Blue, and White Marble. Also, there is a Studio 35 x Kevin Durant special edition colourway, Black Quartz.

The earphones feature handcrafted acetate and come with a hand-polished stainless steel charging case as well as a soft pouch for storage.

The MW07 PLUS also has a clever trick. The earphones can play music or make phone calls on either the left or right earpiece independently.

Finally, 'Ambient Listening Mode' enables you to tune into your surroundings for added awareness and safety, while 'Feedforward Active Noise-Cancellation' reduces background noise.

MW07 GO

The Master & Dynamic is the less expensive of the two new models but the one that has really caught our eye.

Presented as "the ultimate in portability and durability" by the company, the MW07 GO is built from TR90. The ultra-strong, lightweight composite usually found in performance eyewear makes it perfect for earbuds designed for working out. Furthermore, it will equally make them durable for commuters and those that don't mind walking in the rain, thanks to their IPX6 water and sweat resistance rating.

Each bud weighs in at a super-light 7.4g and carries a custom 10mm Beryllium driver.

The earphones and case are 15% smaller and lighter than the first generation MW07. They also come bundled with five ear tip sizes, and three patented Fit Wing sizes. All that adds up to a custom fit that stays secure during any activity.

The MW07 GO hands you 10 hours of listening time fully charged. Then there are an additional 12 hours of battery life courtesy of the charging case.

Additionally, the earphones can be charged to 50% in 15 minutes and 100% in just 40 minutes via the USB-C cable. So, no excuses for long rests between reps!

Even the case has been sorted for performance. A new technical knit fabric surrounds the charging case providing sustained durability and reduced weight.

Master & Dynamic’s founder and CEO, Jonathan Levine, told StereoNET:

We knew from customer feedback that many people were using their MW07 True Wireless Earphones for exercise as well as for general listening enjoyment. Armed with this information, we set out to adapt the MW07 PLUS platform to a dedicated active model--the MW07 GO--focusing on the features most important to this use case including size, durability and water resistance rating.

The MW07 GO earphones are available in Flame Red, Jet Black, Electric Blue, and Stone Grey.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
