NA DISTRIBUTORS BRING FOCAL TO BOTH SIDES OF THE TASMAN

StereoNET can exclusively report that Focal has appointed a single distributor for both the Australian and New Zealand markets.

Until now, New Zealand based company, N.A. Distributors have represented Focal in Australia while K J Distributors managed distribution locally in NZ.

The new arrangement which takes effect from November 1, 2017, will see N.A Distributors take over from the Focal New Zealand distributor that has supplied the market for the last five years.

Announcing the new arrangement, N.A Distributor’s Director, Chris Murphy told StereoNET::

"We are delighted to expand our focal home audio representation to cover all of Australasia. Focal’s wide range of loudspeakers with their innovative technologies and beautiful aesthetics, along with sister company Naim’s range of sophisticated electronics, allows us to offer compelling options to the specialist audio retailers we support."

For the Australian market, it was only a few years ago that StereoNET Australia reported that Focal distribution had moved from Sydney’s Audio Marketing, to cross the Tasman and find a new distribution home with NA Distributors.

The move was met with open questions regarding logistical models marketing and supplying Focal to Australian retailers from New Zealand.

NA Distributors have since proven the critics wrong and have successfully built the Focal brand up in Australia. There’s no doubt the new distribution chain will meet with approval on both sides of the Tasman.

One long-term Melbourne based Focal retailer that StereoNET spoke to applauded the distribution change, commenting:

"One supplier for both countries makes it a logical solution and moreover a more elegant one,"

K J Distributors told StereoNET NZ following the Focal announcement that it would focus on expanding into other projects while continuing to represent Focal’s Car and Professional product ranges.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
