New Era for Arcam in Australia

Cambridge, UK, based manufacturer, Arcam, have announced today the appointment of Advance Audio as their new distributor for the Australian market.

The appointment will see Advance Audio, who currently disitrbute Linn, Wilson Audio, Nordost, KEF and many others in Australia, take over from previous distributor Sennheiser Australia effective May 1st, 2016.

John Davies of Sennheiser Australia told StereoNET:

We have had a very successful partnership with Arcam in Australia and Arcam continues to bring high quality, affordable audio equipment to the market. As we move to concentrate purely on Sennheiser, we believe now is an excellent time for a new distributor to expand the brand presence. We wish Advance Audio Australia a very successful time ahead.

Arcam have promised some exciting new products to be added to their existing range, which already includes a $249 iPhone audio upgrade, through to a $9500 state-of-the-art Home Cinema receiver.

Charlie Brennan, Arcam UK's Managing Director added:

This is going to be a major relaunch for Arcam  and we look forward to hitting the ground running with Advance, who are a well-established and serious specialist distributor, representing a range of products that are the envy of the industry.

As one of the pioneers of the Hi-Fi industry, Arcam have been building world-class products for over 40 years. The brand has been more difficult to come by in recent years locally, and the new Advance Audio relationship should see it get traction in more retail outlets and increase in popularity, similar to other markets around the world.

All existing dealer arrangements will remain in place and all warranties will be honoured via Advance Audio who promises a complete relaunch of the brand in 2016.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
