Pro-Ject Endorsed as Record Store Day’s Turntable of Choice

Busy turntable builder Pro-Ject Audio, has got the nod and will be the exclusive turntable partner of Record Store Day Australia 2014, taking place this year on April 19.

As reported in StereoNET Record Store Day Australia is open to all Australian specialist recorded music retailers with a bricks and mortar store. Audio Boutique for example, will be holding a vinyl meet and greet and swap day on the 19th of April. Many other stores will also contribute.

We all love the traditional record store and StereoNET supports the focus of Record Store Day Australia which is honed in on the recorded music specialist store experience.

Sam Encel youngish executive of Pro-Ject Audio’s Australian distributor Interdyn told StereoNET Record Store Day is all about getting into the store and discovering great music and he could have added, great gear to do justice to vinyl.

"With the most popular turntables in the world, Interdyn believes this is a perfect fit for Pro-Ject, whose products allow customers to get the absolute best out of their much loved vinyl collections,” Mr. Encel said.

Fair enough; few brands can match Pro-Ject’s range which caters for the impoverished to the well padded vinyl fan.

Pro-Ject in conjunction with Record Store Day Australia 2014 will be giving away a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon USB and two Spin Clean Record Washer Systems, and will also be offering giveaways in conjunction with radio stations and setting up in-store demos and listening stations.

Record Store Day was conceived in in the US in 2007 at a gathering of independent record store owners and employees as a way to celebrate and spread the word about the unique culture surrounding nearly 1,000 independently owned record stores in the US and thousands of similar stores internationally.

There are now Record Store Day participating stores on every continent except Antarctica.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
