Push Controls Simplifies Home Automation

European control systems giant Schneider Electric has acquired Push Controls, a home and business automation specialist with a flair for systems offering ease of control. Now known as 'Push by Schneider Electric', it is seen as 'a smart and complementary expansion' of Schneider's systems, says Ben Green, the GM of Push. Schneider's businesses include the Clipsal automation platform, but David Garner, the VP for Clipsal, says "Push will integrate with the Clipsal C-Bus and Schneider's other systems, such as DALIcontrol".
Gardner added that Push's smart phone and tablet control system 'will allow our automation and control offer to become even more user-friendly'.
Schneider Electric, headquartered in France, enjoyed revenues of around 24 billion Euros in 2012 and can trace its business roots back more than 175 years. Ben Green notes that with 'the backing of Schneider Electric new markets will open' for Push by Schneider Electric.
Push Controls' system is highly versatile in its ability to integrate with just about any IP-controlled system. It provides an intuitive interface on up to three 'iDevices' -- smart phones and tablets -- through which sound, lighting, TV, security, heating and cooling and any other aspect of home automation can be controlled. The interface groups controls into sensible structures, with thousands of clear icons available for groups of activities, rooms and even specific branded devices, such as XBox 360, Sonos, Foxtel and Telstra TBOX.
Packages are available for iOS devices and two different resolutions of Android device. Prices for the system range from $299 to $499 depending on the platform.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
