THREE NEW SONY 4K HDR HOME CINEMA PROJECTORS ANNOUNCED

Sony’s new projectors will massage your eyes with an amazing image quality thanks to Sony’s native SXRD panel.

The trio of models is so new they were just launched this week at IFA 2017, in Berlin.

Each of the new 4K HDR projectors is built to give home cinema devotees a projector with high-contrast levels and a detail-studded image quality, says Sony.

The new models comprise the VPL-VW760ES that is a premium laser light source projector built into a compact chassis.

VPL-VW760ES

Sony describes the VPL-VW360ES as a versatile model due to Iris adjustable image quality function, suited to a huge range of content.

The VPL-VW260ES is said to conjure up an immersive and authentic 4K HDR image quality but at an affordable price.

Audio Active, Australia’s Sony distributor confirmed prices with StereoNET and these are $7999 for the 260ES and $10,999 for the 360ES.

The company’s General Manager for Sales and Marketing, Paul Clarke says the price of the 760ES will be announced soon.

The 360ES and 260ES will be available in October and the 760ES arrive in November.

Clarke says the new models support any kind of HDR content. But they’ll also process and beam HLG content.

We’re excited about these new models having been privy to an audition a while back. Trust me the hype isn’t hype. Each has stunning picture quality,

The other thing is yes, the three will support HDR10 content, the standard HDR format for UHD, but get this: they’ll also support HLG which is used for broadcast and online content.

The 760ES that is capable of benchmark quality images is equipped with a 2,000 lumen, laser light source for dazzling and long lasting brightness.

Its technology also delivers high dynamic contrast via a new light level control that adjusts to scene-by-scene brightness in real time. Bright scenes are more vivid and dark scenes have more depth.

The 760ES is compact with a depth of 496mm it’s 40 per cent smaller than the current laser light source model.

360ES

The 360ES replaces the current 320ES. It’s a versatile 4K HDR model with 1500 lumens of brightness and an advanced Iris for 200.000:1 dynamic contrast and a picture positioning memory that adjusts the aspect ratio of any content.

The 260ES, like the 360ES generates 1500 lumens of brightness and carries many of the two more costly models’ features including a native 4K SXRD panel.

The 360ES and 260ES will be available in black and premium white colours while their compact 2.06 zoom and wide lens shift makes for an easy install.
