Welcome Back to Chester Group’s UK Audio Show 2021

We've longed for audio shows and events to return since the pandemic first began, and our wishes have been answered with the UK Audio Show opening its doors, Saturday and Sunday 9 – 10 October.

To be held at the De Vere Staverton Estate, in the Northamptonshire countryside, and organised by Chester Group, the show offers audiophiles and music-lovers the first chance to see new and exciting products in over 18 months. This show represents a determined fightback from an industry hit hard by successive lockdowns and has reportedly attracted unprecedented industry support.

Some of the show highlights include:

  • Node Audio unveil the brand new, production-spec Hylixz Signature loudspeakers, which boast an improvement on the 3D laser-fused helical design bass unit of the originals Syndicate Room 11.
  • A unique demonstration of live versus recorded music by Lyngdorf Audio in the Chelmsford Suite, showcasing transformational audio technology.
  • Some of the UK's premier retailers offering new releases, audiophile reissues and imports across all genres as part of the resurgence.
  • Nola invites visitors to get up-close and personal to the second-generation Concert Grand Reference Gold 2 twin-tower loudspeaker systems featuring open-baffle, short line array design with a dozen drive units per tower five-way unison crossover technology. Also launched is the Boxer S3.
  • New brand Alchris Audio launching its speakers and promises excitement as the designer has created some real gems in the past.
  • Mycetias Audio debut - an eclectic brand whose top-quality loudspeakers are designed and hand-made in Lancashire for worldwide distribution. Hear them in Syndicate Room 41.
  • West Sussex-based, and Brighton born Audio Note UK have live demonstrations in Syndicate room 3.
  • Hand-made and individually hand-tuned, Taylor Acoustics' high-end luxury loudspeakers capture all the emotions and dynamics of live music and bring it home.
  • Time Audio showcase Audio Exklusive's P8 CD player and electronics along with Diapason loudspeakers in the Truro Suite.
  • Local to the venue, Emilen Audio from Woodford Halse epitomises the very best in British engineering. Founded by John Standen it manufactures amps, speakers and cables, all on show in the Warwick Suite.

  • Val Hi-Fi make the trip from Ashford in Kent to showcase their curated approach to hi-fi retailing, revealing a passion for discovering, supporting and championing boutique brands; all to give customers a transcendent audio experience.
  • High-end audio can be just mind-blowing, and some of the world's most prestigious – not to say most expensive – systems will be on demonstration, including Accuphase & Audiomica from the Music Works team from Cheadle.
  • There's a chance to 'meet the designers' of Switzerland's Boenick Audio and Moonriver Audio from Sweden, who are hosted by Whole Note Distribution in the Oxford Suite.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
