ARCAM ANNOUNCES SA30 INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER

StereoNET attended the launch of the new Harman Experience Store in Munich, Germany, in early May, where Arcam’s engineers proudly unveiled its new HDA range flagship model, the SA30.
The 2-channel integrated amplifier designed around class G amplification boasts an extensive feature list including wireless connectivity, Dirac Live room correction, five analogue inputs including a switchable MM/MC phono input, four digital inputs, ESS Sabre ESS9038 DAC, Roon and MQA, AirPlay 2, UPnP, GoogleCast, and HDMI.
Arcam’s SA30 offers 120W of power per channel (8 Ohms) and 220W (4 Ohms). Arcam’s Class G amplifier design is also found on its highly acclaimed flagship FMJ Stereo AV Receiver (SR250) and AV Receiver (AVR850) - read the StereoNET review here.
Arcam’s car analogy explains it best:
Class G implements multiple power supplies rather than just a single supply. If a dynamic signal is received that goes beyond the capability of this first power supply, the secondary supply is gradually brought in up to full rated power output as required. This gives a very efficient design as additional power is only used when required, much like a turbocharger. Modern high-speed silicon allows us the make this switch faster that would ever be required, even way beyond the audio bandwidth, so there is no “turbo lag”.
At the launch event, it was clear Arcam is proud of this new release and the features and technology they’ve been able to squeeze into the SA30’s slimline chassis, measuring just 100mm tall and weighing 12kgs.
Scott Campbell, Director of Sales and Marketing at ARCAM, told StereoNET:
The SA30 represents the new pinnacle for stereo amplification from ARCAM. Our hugely talented design team has left nothing on the pitch here. This is Class G technology expertly implemented and teamed with the latest cutting-edge features, including room correction technology, hi-resolution audio support, and custom install provision. I applaud their skills.
For custom integration and installers, the SA30 also includes full IP control including Control4 and Crestron.
Arcam SA30 Stereo Integrated Amplifier will be available in October 2019. Local pricing has not yet been confirmed.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
