Bluesound HD Streaming Audio Hits Australia

Bluesound, a high definition streaming audio system with components covering everything from music acquisition to reproduction, is now available in Australia from Convoy International.
Each of the components on the reproduction side connect to a standard home network via Ethernet, some with Wireless-N, for the best delivery of high resolution audio. Sampling rates from 32kHz to 192kHz, and 16 and 24 bit sampling depths, are supported by all the components. As are just about all audio formats: MP3, AAC, WMA (including lossless), OGG, FLAC, ALAC, WAV and AIFF.
The whole system is controlled by a smart device app, both iOS and Android are supported. These also provide access to a wide range of online streaming audio services, such as Slacker Radio, QoBuz, HighResAudio, JUKE, Deezer, WiMP and TuneIn Radio.
There's a playback device to suit all needs. The Node ($649) turns streaming audio into extremely high quality analogue sound, ready to drive any existing high fidelity system. The Powernode ($999) adds two forty watt DirectDigital amplifiers from NAD electronics to drive any stereo speaker pair. The Pulse ($999) is an all-in-one sound solution, with a 5.25 inch woofer and two 2.75 inch high frequency drivers, powered with 80 watts from DirectDigital amplifiers.
Designed to go with the Powernode, the Duo stereo satellite and subwoofer combination ($1,499) has 280 extra watts of power for the 8 inch subwoofer, while the two way satellites benefit from the special digital EQ of the Powernode's amplifier.
While any digital music already on your network is catered for, Bluesound also provides the Vault ($1,499), a high resolution music server with a quiet, one terabyte hard disk and CD ripper.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
