Your kids are going to love it—so will you, as there's much to like about Cambridge Audio's DeLorean Edition Evo 150.

Great Scott! Turn up The Power of Love by Huey Lewis and The News on the system, fill the Flux Capacitor and hit the gas til you reach 88 mph because Cambridge Audio has released a special DeLorean Edition of its Applause Award-winning Evo 150 streaming system.

The Evo 150 DeLorean Edition features two body kits to apply to its bare metal brushed bodywork. One replicates the front grille and classic logo of the DMC-12, the now famous time travelling car converted by Doc Brown in Back To The Future, and the DeLorean Alpha 5 luxury sports car, which is set to launch later this year. The panels attach easily using magnets.

Aside from those automotive tweaks, it's the same Evo 150 we know, reviewed and loved. That means a 6.8-inch colour LCD panel for information and album artwork alongside the large rotary dial. Naturally, you can also use the StreamMagic app on your mobile device to control the unit and its 150W of amplification.

Hook up your turntable utilising the built-in MM phono stage, or stream tunes via the onboard ESS Sabre ES9018k2m Reference DAC. Just refrain from attempting to harness lightning to power it.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
