CHORD ELECTRONICS POLY AUSTRALIAN PREVIEW EVENTS

Chord Electronics revolutionised portable audio when they launched the MOJO about a year ago. The “leak” of its imminent arrival didn’t attract anywhere near as much attention as our full review did which followed shortly afterwards and once consumers understood its application. That review has since attracted nearly 20,000 readers.

For a company with its roots planted firmly in the high-end 2-channel audio arena, is there a brand that has better reinvented themselves and evolved to deliver products that the market demands today?

Late last year Chord Electronics announced a major upgrade for MOJO in the form of POLY. A modular add-on for MOJO, it brings with it high-res wireless streaming, SD card and network music playback, with both smartphone control and playback. MOJOPOLY?

After numerous production delays and consumers growing more eager every month, POLY will be officially previewed in Australia next month via two exclusive retailer-based events.

Reinforcing the significance of the events, Chord’s John Franks and Robert Watts will travel from their UK headquarters to be present. They’ll host an information night as well as a Q&A regarding the POLY and Chord’s Hugo2.

If you need a refresher on POLY, merging it with MOJO adds a DLNA renderer which will work with most UPNP player apps, SD card reader/player, Airplay and Google cast receiver, Bluetooth receiver, and best of all …. it’s Roon enabled!

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
