DEQX Extends Beta Program for Early Adopters

Plagued by supply chain issues, the highly anticipated 4th Generation of DEQX and its Digital Preamp Processor range, first announced in 2021, is nearing its official launch.

The revolutionary release has been years in the making, but of particular interest is the LS-1 Integrated Amplifier processor, offering Hypex 2x200w power with the benefit of DEQX loudspeakers and room correction. Users can also add a calibrated subwoofer to a pair of full-range loudspeakers.

Key features across the new range include DEQX Cloud, which allows processors to interface over the network to the DEQX Cloud, resulting in intuitive, cross-platform, zero-install speaker calibration and room correction.

DEQX has refocused on hardware usability, with a carefully selected set of features for each model, large volume control with LED readout and a 5.5-inch AMOLED touchscreen with a customised glass front.

All new-generation models also come with the DEQXpert service, which includes an initial remote/online DEQXpert consultation to get you started with your new DEQX.

The 4th generation DEQX represents the Australian company's most significant advance in development since it first pioneered Impulse-Response Speaker Calibration and Room Integration in 1997.

Beta Program

DEQX originally aimed to exit its Beta testing stage by the end of 2024. However, they have decided to extend the Beta period into 2025 while providing genuine incentives for early adopters. DEQX says the hardware is now final. However, the software and firmware will continue to evolve based on real-user feedback.

In addition to special pricing, Beta members will have direct input to suggest desired features, a full warranty (subject to freight), DEQXpert online support, and a capped-price hardware upgrade option. All Gen-4 products, the Pre-8, Pre-4 and LS-200, are available to order as part of the beta program.

All installation is performed by DEQX using the online installation service and typically takes less than an hour, depending on the system's complexity.  The customer requires no specialised knowledge.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
