Fidelity Imports brings Michell Engineering back to U.S. Market

Thanks to Fidelity Imports, British Turntable manufacturer Michell Engineering has found a new home in the U.S.
Founded in 1968 and revered by vinyl lovers around the globe, Michell set out to design and build products that offer true innovation to the audio world. All while still retaining the personal touch instilled into the company by its founder – the late John Michell.
Steve Jain, Managing Director and Co-founder of Fidelity Imports, told StereoNET:
We are building a curated portfolio of the world's finest audio products, which makes Michell engineering's Gyrodec, one of the most iconic turntable designs of all time, particularly attractive to our customers.
Fidelity Imports was founded by two friends who have spent their entire lives in the Audio Industry. Fidelity Imports' curated portfolio includes prestigious brands such as Cyrus Audio, Goldring, Q Acoustics, QED, and many more.
Michell Engineering is unarguably one of the planet’s most iconic turntable brands. In fact, it was good enough for Steve Jobs shown here in 1982 with a Michell Gyrodeck.
The original Michell Transcriptor Turntable is still the stuff of many an audiophile’s wet dreams. So beautiful, it’s on permanent display in New York’s Museum of Fine Arts and other boutique museums in Paris and Germany. And yes, the Michell Transcriptor had a cameo role in the Kubrick classic movie called A Clockwork Orange.
Steve Rowland, Export Sales Manager, J A Michell Engineering LTD, added:
After a year away from the U.S. market we are extremely proud to announce the appointment of Fidelity Imports as our new partner for the U.S. Beginning with our initial introduction, we are continually impressed by Fidelity Imports' enthusiasm for the Michell brand and the professional way they run their business. I know from their current portfolio; we are a perfect fit with their other U.K. based products in their catalogue.
Effective immediately, with Fidelity Imports appointed as its exclusive distribution partner, it will make Michell's range of British-made Turntables and accessories available in the U.S. via specialist dealers.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
