FRENCH LUXURY WITH FOCAL’S LISTEN WIRELESS CHIC HEADPHONES

Focal has revamped its Listen Wireless headphones range with a splash of colour. The Wireless Chic models are the newest editions to a growing range of Focal headphones and will be available in three new colour finishes - Olive, Purple and Blue.

Listen Wireless Chic is equipped with Bluetooth 4.1 wireless technology and are compatible with Bluetooth aptX. As well as going wireless you can also hook up using a traditional audio cable and, when connected to a DAC, they will deliver all the power and scale worthy of a high-end hi-fi product.

The Focal Listen headphones are already known for their comfort and the ultra-flexible headband that makes them light, reducing pressure on the head and increasing durability. The memory foam ear cushions, made from fabric and leatherette, provide excellent isolation, a key feature of Listen Wireless Chic.

The headphones fold which also makes them easy to use on the go and to carry around, while the scratch-resistant non-conductive metallisation finish is durable for a long-lasting perfect finish.

The new models offer twenty hours of listening time after a charging time of less than three hours, while the automatic standby feature means they can be left on for up to 240 hours between charges.

During Bluetooth use, the Listen Wireless Chic has a reception range of up to 15 metres, giving you complete freedom of movement around the source.

They are equipped with a dual omnidirectional microphone system, which utilises Clear Voice Capture software for improved voice clarity while talking, even in noisy environments. They also include NFC technology for easy connectivity to smartphones equipped with an NFC module for a quick connection.

The controls are located on the ear-pieces, making the Listen Wireless Chic even more ergonomic. They have been strategically positioned to enable users to control the functions effortlessly, quickly and easily and are grouped into three areas: the on/off and Bluetooth buttons in one area, music and call controls in another and a volume control. The controls are simple and intuitive and are controlled by short or long presses.

Voice notifications and different LED colours indicate the status of the headphones, the battery level and pairing, etc.

Up to eight different devices can be stored in the memory of Listen Wireless Chic, and two devices can be connected simultaneously. This means users can listen to music from a tablet and answer a call from a smartphone at the same time.

Listen Wireless Chic is supplied with a USB cable and an audio cable for wired use, or for when Bluetooth connectivity isn’t possible. A soft carry case allows users to transport the headphones around in complete safety.

Carry your music anywhere, in style and total freedom!

According to George Poutakidis, Director of Busisoft AV who distributes Focal's Headphone products in New Zealand, the Focal Listen Wireless Chic headphones will be available late May for $499 RRP.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
