From Switzerland, Stenheim Speakers Now Available in Australia
Stenheim, the manufacturer of some of the world's most desirable loudspeakers, are now available in Australia with the appointment of Nirvana Sound as its Australian distributor.
Founded in 2010, the brand is now globally renowned and synonymous with excellence and stunning design. It offers two speaker ranges, including the 'Alumine' and 'Reference Ultime'.
The Alumine range consists of Alumine Two ($19,500 RRP) stand-mount speaker, Alumine Three ($52,000 RRP) compact floor-standing speaker, and the Alumine Five ($98,000 RRP), a large-scale floor-standing speaker. Each model has a higher-spec special edition (SE) version available for the discerning audiophile – the Alumine Two SE, Three SE and Five SE. The SE versions use the same cabinet and drivers but are paired with a cost-no-object crossover, upgraded (or custom) internal wiring and upgraded binding posts.
The Reference Ultime range consists of Reference Ultime Two ($234,000 RRP) d'Appolito design reference floor-standing speaker with two 32cm woofers, the Reference Ultime Three ($354,000 RRP), a large-scale reference loudspeaker with four 32cm woofers, and finally, the Reference Statement ($1,100,000 RRP) which is the flagship of the Stenheim range with eight 32cm woofers.
George Moraitis, Director of Nirvana Sound, told StereoNET:
It's unusual that a relatively new speaker company earns a reputation for excellence so quickly as Stenheim have. Many experienced audiophiles around the world told us about this Swiss brand, and in 2019, we attended the Munich High End Show to hear them for ourselves. We were captivated from that first encounter.
George adds that "a lot of new high-end speaker designs are so obsessed with resolution and detail that they have lost the ability to communicate natural tonality", which he believes to be one of the bedrocks of emotional engagement when it comes to musical reproduction.
Stenheim has ignored these trends and instead has focussed on presenting the music in a natural way, the way that you would hear an artist if they were playing live in front of you. We love this approach and are elated that many people are re-discovering their love of music through these wonderful speakers.
