Harmonic Resolution Systems Now Available in Australia
Harmonic Resolution Systems, or 'HRS' for short, and its range of stands, isolation bases and chassis control devices are now available again in Australia, thanks to Advance Audio.
We've seen this brand on our shores a few times before. Still, its wide range of applications across hi-fi components, all designed to remove unwanted vibrations and allow the components to perform as their designers intended, are set to be more widely available.
The range includes damping plates (starting at $350), isolation bases (from $1600) through to the top-of-the-range VXR flagship stand. HRS has a range of products across a wide range of price points and applications. We dare say no other company shows the attention to detail that HRS offers with its products and applications. For example, when ordering an isolation base, customers need to let HRS know which product it will be used with. Every component is designed differently, which affects the vibration control approach.
Nigel Ng, Advance Audio Australia's Managing Director, told StereoNET:
We're not one to bring products into our region just for commercial reasons alone. The products have to work and produce an audible benefit, otherwise it has no place in our portfolio. The team and I find it really hard getting excited about nothing. Before introducing HRS we went through a six-month evaluation period, including virtual meetings and in-person demonstrations in overseas locations. After all our testing, we've no doubt in their solid engineering approach towards improving the performance of hifi systems.
Brad O'Toole from Harmonic Resolution Systems added:
Professional, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and curious are the first words that come to mind to describe Advance Audio in Australia. From the first communication, their response was spot on. They ask the right questions, do what they promise, and show up. I am sure they treat their dealers and customers with the same solid values. Everyone at HRS looks forwards to working with Advance Audio to grow our brand together.
HRS' Chief Engineer, Michael Latvis, has over fourty years of engineering and product development experience with a specialty in vibration, noise, and control systems. Prior to founding HRS in 1999, Michael held a number of key positions with industry leading companies. These positions included Design Engineering, Engineering Management, and Business Development Management positions. He also holds six issued patents related to shock, vibration isolation, and high-performance audio products.
HRS will be available with stock arriving in Australia from September 2022.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
