INTERDYN BRINGS PANASONIC BLU-RAY PLAYERS TO AUSTRALIAN MARKET

Interdyn has announced today that it will bring Panasonic's range of premium Blu-ray players to the Australian market via selected specialist dealers and custom integrators.
The new partnership with Panasonic will see two 4K Blu-ray players available starting with the DP-UB820 UHD, and flagship player, the DP-UB9000 UHD, which will be available from December 2018.
The announcement follows the cease of manufacturing by OPPO earlier this year, a brand Interdyn very successfully represented in Australia and New Zealand for many years. OPPO was the brand of choice for discerning movie and home cinema lovers and the announcement left many scratching their heads for a replacement. StereoNET previously reported on Pansonic as a potential OPPO replacement just a week after OPPO's shock announcement.
Interdyn Director, Evgeny Vizelman, told StereoNET:
It is Interdyn’s focus to cater to the needs of our retailer and integrator networks, and with the closure of OPPO Digital, we are excited to be able to bring our customers a new generation of Blu-ray players from a world-class brand. We’re looking forward to working closely with Panasonic to ensure both of their players are strongly established in the Australian specialist market.
The new partnership has the blessing of Paul Reid, Managing Director of Panasonic Australia who added:
Panasonic warmly welcomes Interdyn to our lineup of partners, as they bring our latest premium Blu-ray offerings to discerning Australian customers. Interdyn has proven expertise in the distribution of products in this segment and a strong network of both AV Specialist retailers and integrators. We’re confident that our new Premium 4K Blu-ray players are in the best hands.
Panasonic's DP-UB9000 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player was awarded High-End UHD Blu-ray Player of the Year by EISA this year.
It is considered to be a Reference level player, praised by EISA judges for its "gloriously engineering, custom processing, high-spec components and advanced user adjustments".
It also features a 768kHz/32-bit DAC, and is built to a very high standard with double-layer base and top plates, an aluminium chassis and a new, rigid drive mechanism.
Pricing for the DP-UB820 UHD has been announced as $659 RRP, while the DP-UB9000 has not yet been confirmed, but as reported previously it will sell in the UK for £999.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
