Digital Audio Specialists, Aqua - Acoustic Quality Appoints Audio Magic as New Distributor

Based in Milan, Italy and founded in 2021, Aqua-Acoustic Quality has been juggled by a few distributors since its early days but now rests at Melbourne-based Audio Magic for distribution in Australia.

Cristian Anelli, Aqua's founder, chief engineer and product designer, tells us Aqua - Acoustic Quality equipment "is not subject to the whims of market trends but built to achieve true high fidelity sound reproduction."

Anelli continues:

By combining dedicated research with creative thinking, our research and development have brought forth a range of innovations aimed at recreating the live music experience.

Its small but potent range includes two DACs (La Scala Mk2 $11,900,  Formula xHD Rev.2 $22,000), the La Diva M2 CD Transport ($14,000), and the LinQ Network Interface ($10,500).

Entirely built in Italy, Aqua says its mission "is to build electronics able to create the emotional connections one experiences with live music". Anelli adds, "in our view, this can only be realized by submitting every individual component to a series of listening tests. For aqua, being able to reproduce the precise temporal response, dynamics and harmony of sound far outweighs technical measurements. After all, achieving "analog sound" is what matters most. We are continuously experimenting and open to new discoveries which is why our machines are modular and upgradable to accommodate future technology."

Aqua - Acoustic Quality's range is available now from Audio Magic and selected retail outlets.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
