Kanto Audio Previews UKI Compact Bookshelf Speaker at CES
Canadian-based Kanto Audio has announced the upcoming release of its new UKI bookshelf speakers with signature wireless sound.
The new UKI compact bookshelf speaker features a distinctive clamshell design. The company says this release "delivers exceptional sound clarity in a small, budget-friendly package" and that UKI is the ideal choice for both small spaces and those new to Hi-Fi audio.
Kanto Audio UKI features Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C and RCA inputs, allowing for desktop use but also supporting the addition of a turntable for vinyl lovers. It also features a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Measuring just 6.5-inches tall by 4.3-inches deep, UKI utilises a 3-inch concave dome woofer, complemented by a 3/4-inch silk dome tweeter. There is a subwoofer output with an automatic low pass filter (100Hz) for those wanting more bottom end support.
Brett Smalley from Kanto Audio told StereoNET:
Following the successful 2024 debut of ORA and REN, the UKI is a great introduction to the Kanto Audio sound.
Debuting officially at CES in Las Vegas, four colours will be available at launch: black, white, cobalt, and sage. Kanto Audio UKI will be available in the second half of 2025 and will sell for $199/£199.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
