Klipsch Announces 7th Generation and Best Reference Series Loudspeakers Yet

Klipsch has announced the next-generation ten-model lineup of its famed Reference series is now available.
Having dominated living rooms for years, the 7th-generation series from Klipsch features what the company says is "the most dramatic upgrades since the series' inception, including many technologies derived from the award-winning Klipsch Reference Premiere series."
First introduced in 1997 and originally known as the Synergy Series, the range was re-branded in 2015 to the Reference Series. The brand new series reflects over four years of research, development and engineering, honouring the 25 years of product lineage and based on founder Paul W Klipsch's principles over the last 75 years.
Including its Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers, the ten new models of the Reference series are infused with the latest technological audio advancements, as well as cosmetic and material upgrades. Upgrades include a new, larger, edge-to-edge proprietary Tractrix horn that provides improved coverage, bandwidth, and directivity control. New woofers made of spun-copper thermoformed crystal polymer (TCP) use steeper angling of cones for a smoother response and better crossover integration for improved accuracy and transparency.
The sleek cabinet designs exude modern elegance with enhanced cabinet bracing and features such as black scratch-resistant wood grain vinyl finish, metallic coated binding posts, and discrete Dolby Atmos connections that allow for effortless and refined elevation speaker integration.
There are three floorstanding speakers, including the R-605FA Dolby Atmos-enabled ($899 ea), R-800F ($599 ea) and R-600F ($499 ea), two centre channels including the R-50C ($379) and R-30C ($499), two bookshelf speakers - R-50M ($399 /pair) and R-40M ($299 /pair) one Dolby Atmos elevation speaker that can also be used as a surround speaker, R-40SA ($599 /pair), and two powered subwoofers - R-121SW ($599) and R-101SW ($499).
Selected Klipsch Reference 7th-generation models are available now, with other models in the line-up becoming available soon.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
