MARANTZ PM7000N AUDIOPHILE INTEGRATED AMP WITH PHONO AND STREAMING SKILLS
Marantz has announced the PM7000N, the company's first fully discrete integrated Hi-Fi amplifier with high-resolution music streaming capabilities.
The Marantz PM7000N integrated amplifier sports HEOS so you can stream music from the all-new Amazon Music (HD) we reported on recently. Naturally, there's also Spotify Free and Premium, Tidal, Deezer and more.
Additionally, you can squirt audio from your local digital music libraries up to FLAC HD 192/24 as well as DSD5.6. You can also add Bluetooth and Apple AirPlay 2 to the list as well.
Audiophile Grade
The PM7000N boasts "hand-selected, high-grade audio components" as well as the company's proprietary Current Feedback amplification and Hyper-Dynamic Amplifier Modules (HDAM-SA3).
The PM7000N also boasts a newly developed preamplifier section features the latest electronic volume control which Marantz states "achieve[s] outstanding channel separation and exceptional signal-to-noise ratio".
The integrated amp rocks a toroidal transformer and high-speed instantaneous-current power supply. You get an output of 2x 60W into 8 ohms or 2 x 80W into 4 ohms.
Adding to the Marantz PM7000N's audiophile credentials, the digital circuit sits in a shielded case, minimising potential interference with the analogue side.
However, to fully preserve the signal when listening to analogue sources and provide the most musical experience, the PM7000N is also equipped with Pure Mode. Pure Mode enables you to disable USB-A, Network, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, either individually or simultaneously - turning the PM7000N into a pure analogue amplifier.
Phono Input
The PM7000N introduces a new integrated phono input design that integrates a FET (field-effect transistor) in the input stage. The result is high input impedance, eliminates the need for AC coupling capacitors and simplifies the signal path, lowering distortion and vastly improving overall signal purity.
Inputs and Outputs
The PM7000N is equipped with four analogue inputs and one analogue output. There is also one coaxial and two optical digital inputs, along with a USB-A input for high-resolution audio files.
The optical and coax inputs can automatically wake the PM7000N when sensing an audio signal, and so, making it ideal to use with your set-top box or telly.
The subwoofer output features an adjustable low-pass crossover to tailor bass response to each unique listening environment.
Finally, the new integrated amp supports Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Apple Siri voice agents for seamless voice control.

The Marantz PM7000N has an MSRP of £999 / €1,199 and will be available from November 15th.
