NEW EASIER TO USE DIRAC LIVE SOFTWARE

Dirac Research, the Swedish leaders in room correction software solutions, have announced a new, easier to use software version featuring an upgraded user interface, easier setup, and improved technical performance.

Available now, the beta version of Dirac Live is initially available for owners of Arcam, Lexicon, Audio Control and NAD Electronics products with Dirac Research saying broader availability will happen shortly.

The beta will be demonstrated at CEDIA Expo in San Diego, USA, in September at the Dirac Research booth.

Niklas Thorin, Dirac’s General Manager of High Performance Audio, said:

Dirac Live has served as the industry’s reference room correction solution since it was first unveiled over five years ago. It established a new standard in room correction technology and allowed home theater systems to achieve a new degree in acoustical perfection.

However, new UI design and technical advancements have inspired us to reimagine the Dirac Live solution for its second generation – combining the brilliance of the first-generation solution with recent market developments to usher in a new era of Dirac Live. We look forward to showcasing its beta at CEDIA 2018!

According to Dirac Research, the new version shifts the user interface from a somewhat technical process requiring a substantial knowledge, to one relying more on the highly-intuitive app to help the user ensure everything is being done correctly.

The new version is also said to include an enhanced phase correction algorithm for improved stereo reproduction.

Where the previous version of Dirac Live individually measured the phase of each stereo speaker, this new version also analyzes speakers in pairs, which ensures that the pair’s phase responses are matched to each other.

Finally, the software is said to benefit from being more widely compatible with control devices including laptops, tablets or smartphones.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
