PIONEER INTRODUCES AFFORDABLE HI-RES IN-EAR HEADPHONES

Pioneer have always been at the forefront of technology, developing and innovating new products. Their new CH Series introduces two in-ear headphones with a ultra-wide frequency response they say are perfect for today's hi-res audio formats.
With a frequency range of 8 Hz-45 kHz (SE-CH5T) and 5 Hz-50 kHz (SE-CH9T), Pioneer have developed this series specifically for use with smartphones and Hi-Res Audio players, such as the XDP-30R and XDP-300R (reviews in progress).
Pioneer says that its newly designed 9.7mm driver provides optimal sound reproduction of high-resolution music material and is supported by the exclusive Airflow Control Port, which additionally increases the sound definition in the medium and low frequency range.
For use on-the-go, Pioneer have spec'd a braided over-ear cable design ensuring reliability while also allowing optimal comfort. Noise interferences caused by movements of the cable have also been minimised.
Both the SE-CH5T ($99 RRP) and the SE-CH9T ($199 RRP) feature the 9.7mm Driver and Airflow Control Port, an inline remote control and microphone (call answer/end function). The SE-CH5T has a frequency response of 8Hz - 45kHz, while the SE-CH9T boasts a 5Hz-50kHz frequency response.
The SE-CH9T also features a double-layered metal structure featuring a brass nozzle and aluminium sleeve to eliminate resonances and vibrations, and detachable cables with MMCX connectors.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
