Promoting HiFi to the masses

No matter how you look at it, HiFi and the promotion of high-fidelity sound is challenging in today's market. A HiFi purchase is only a consideration well after food, bills, cars and holidays have been paid for.

Dynaudio Lego Speaker in Melbourne 2016Dynaudio and their Australian distributor, Busisoft AV are doing their bit to promote Hi-Fi to the masses via a promotion at Melbourne Central in October.

While purely a novelty, the giant LEGO replica of Dynaudio's Focus 600 XD loudspeaker is sure to attract attention as it did earlier this year at the High End show in Munich, Germany.

Standing 3.75m tall and weighing 85kgs, Matija Puzar from Norway who is a LEGO certified professional builder crafted the masterpiece with the assistance of Dynaudio's own staff. LEGO and Dynaudio both of Danish heritage made the collaboration a perfect fit.

The Dynaudio speakers took two months to build and it now travels the world proudly promoting the brand.

There are only 12 certified LEGO builders in the world and Matija is known for building famous buildings with LEGO. No scale is off limits and he often brings a new lease of life to creations through subtle touch-ups.

Visitors to the display at Melbourne Central will have the chance to win a pair of Dynaudio Xeo 2 speakers if they guess correctly the number of LEGO pieces it has taken to build the giant loudspeaker. To enter visit Melbourne Central between October 11th - 19th, 2016. Just near the clock tower, you won't miss it!

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
