Ruark Celebrates 30 Years with Limited Edition R1 DAB+ Radio

DAB+ takes your radio listening experience to another level and now with more coverage than ever, the third generation Ruark R1 DAB+ radio should be on your Christmas wish list.
Ruark's limited edition R1 tabletop radio celebrates three decades of rich audio heritage and exceptional craftsmanship.
At first glance the R1 may resemble previous generations of the design. Scratch beneath the surface however, and you will discover that every model has been painstakingly and completely redesigned.
Featuring the very best in terms of technology, the R1 tabletop radio includes DAB, DAB+ and FM transmission, as well as a Bluetooth receiver to quickly and easily stream music wirelessly from a range of handheld devices, making it the perfect tabletop and bedside companion.
There's also a comprehensive dual alarm and USB charge port. For those wanting the convenience of being able to pick the R1 up and take it with you, the addition of Ruark’s optional CarryPack and BackPack transforms the R1 into the perfect portable partner.
Philip Sawyer, Managing Director of Ruark's Australian distributor, Synergy Audio Visual told StereoNET:
The R1 Tabletop Radio is the perfect companion for absolutely anyone who loves music and appreciates design. The special edition R1 to mark the 30th anniversary will make a stunningly beautiful, stand out piece in any Australian home.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
