STEREONET LAUNCHES IN UNITED KINGDOM

StereoNET, a leading web publication focusing on news, reviews and information relating to Hi-Fi, Home Cinema, Tech and Gadgets has this week launched its UK specific website.

Founded in Australia in 1999 by English-born enthusiast, Marc Rushton, StereoNET’s Australian publication now attracts over 200,000 monthly unique visitors. The organisation also hosts the annual International Hi-Fi Show in Melbourne.

In 2017 StereoNET also acquired Australian website DTV, a website with over 100,000 registered members that focused on digital television and home cinema. The DTV publication was merged with StereoNET Australia.

Later the same year, StereoNET expanded into New Zealand with its acquisition of the long-established print magazine and website AudioEnz, appointing local audiophile and writer, Gary Pearce, as Editor.

StereoNET UK Editor, Jay GarrettStereoNET maintains independent publications in Australia, New Zealand and now United Kingdom with the most recent appointment of Yorkshire-raised Canadian, Jay Garrett, as StereoNET UK Editor.

StereoNET UK will retain the values of its antipodean cousins but will have a distinctly British voice.

Garrett has over a decade’s worth of experience as the Founder of leading UK consumer electronics website, GadgetyNews.

He has partnered with other publications along the way and is currently the resident Techno Geek at luxury lifestyle magazine, Oracle Time.

His Northern heritage is most likely the driving force behind his plain speaking which is no doubt a breath of fresh air in the heady environment of initials and acronyms synonymous with the world of Hi-Fi.

Jay said:

I’m proud to take up the role as Editor at StereoNET UK. You can expect reports of the latest news from the industry as well as a wide range of reviews taking in everything from cables to stands, speakers to streamers, turntables to cans.

Continuing:

With our sister publications in other parts of the world, our resources stretch far and wide, and we look forward to collectively delivering a high-quality publication to local enthusiasts and industry members.

While maintaining independent publications, the StereoNET team which also includes industry veterans Peter Familari and Robert Follis work collectively and now on a global level.

StereoNET’s Founder and Publisher was born in England and raised on British Hi-Fi before moving to Australia. He developed an early love of music and playing bass guitar before discovering the studio and the other side of the mixing desk. After writing for print magazines, Marc saw the future in digital publishing and founded the first version of StereoNET in 1999.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
