Cambridge Audio Joins Eno, Adds Deezer

Cambridge Audio has added Deezer to its streamers and has become a founding donor of Brian Eno's EarthPercent charity.
Cambridge Audio has had a busy week. It has added native support for Deezer to its range of network music streamers powered by its StreamMagic platform and has also become a founding donor to the EarthPercent environmental charity co-founded by Brian Eno.
Cambridge Audio is the first brand to join the music industry initiative to fund meaningful climate action alongside luminaries, including Coldplay, Billie Eilish, Merck Mercuriadis, Fraser T Smith, and Eno himself.
This role sees Cambridge Audio supporting EarthPercent's operating costs for three years while advocating for other hi-fi and music manufacturing companies to donate a percentage of their profits to the charity.
Cambridge Audio Managing Director, Stuart George (pictured above), told StereoNET:
We're doing this because there's no music on a dead planet. There are many things currently taking the climate topic off the agenda, and that's unbelievably dangerous for all of us. So, it's crucial we all try and do what we can to make things better. We're committed to change at Cambridge Audio, to finding solutions, to live and work in more environmentally friendly and sustainable ways. I urge every one of us to do the right thing for the only planet we have.
Even before joining up with EarthPercent, Cambridge Audio had already taken significant steps to lower its carbon footprint, including dramatically cutting down on the use of air freight. The brand also has its own Climate Change Taskforce, with sustainability an essential consideration in all decision-making processes. This includes partnerships, as shown by the recent announcement of its in-car audio plans for DeLorean's new Alpha5 electric vehicle.
DEEZER STREAMERS
Deezer now joins Tidal Connect and Spotify Connect amongst the comprehensive streaming options available on Cambridge Audio's network audio players and all-in-one systems, bringing with it a catalogue of over 90 million tracks in up to 16-bit/44.1kHz FLAC (CD-quality) format.
First to receive the update, which is available now, are the recent Applause Award-winning Evo 150 and its Evo 75 sibling. Over the following weeks, the Edge NQ, CXN (V2), CXN (V1) and Azur 851N will also join in getting the Deezer update.
The Deezer update will happen via an over-the-air firmware upgrade for both the free StreamMagic app and supported products.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
