Spotify Connect Lands on MOON

MOON streaming devices now include Spotify Connect functionality.
Spotify Connect is now available on MOON's streamers in addition to AirPlay 2, which was introduced at the end of last year. This also means that you may soon be able to access the recently announced Spotify Hi-Fi tier.
Spotify Connect is the easiest way to take advantage of Spotify's immense library of music and podcasts and play it through your system. All you have to do is open the Spotify app, choose a track to listen to, select your MOON device and start listening. Naturally, you will still benefit from MOON's audio technology and sound quality.
Spotify Connect is now available on the following MOON streaming devices:
- ACE – all-in-one music system
- MiND 2 - network player
- 280D – streaming DAC
- 390 – network player/preamplifier
- 680D – streaming DAC
- 780D v2 – streaming DAC
Even though you might be accessing Spotify Connect on your smartphone, you can still make and receive calls without stopping the music. Additionally, streaming songs directly will also save the phone's battery life. Furthermore, you can seamlessly switch between devices without interrupting the tunes.
Etienne Gautier, MOON's export sales manager, told StereoNET:
Spotify Connect gives MOON owners yet another connectivity option, and the Spotify music library will now benefit from MOON's renowned detailed and natural audio reproduction. I know that our customers will welcome this new addition to our products.
All new MOON streaming products will feature Spotify Connect in their proprietary MiND2 module (MOON Intelligent Network Device), while existing MOON owners can install it via a firmware update.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
